Colour Masterbatches are pelletised colorants, comprised of high concentrations of pigments and/or dyes that have been pre-dispersed in a polymer. Additive masterbatches are the same, however rather than colour, they add extra properties. Examples range from resistance to degradation through ultra violet light, to anti-static additives that prevent dust building up on component surfaces. Combinations of colour and additive packages are available too.
Of all the choices available to processors today for colouring or modifying polymers, masterbatch concentrates are overwhelmingly preferred.
